This is the web site of the HE-Special-UK mailing list. We are a group of families who Home Educate children with Special Educational Needs.

“Home Education” is the UK term for what may be better known as Homeschooling. Our children don't attend school, or in some cases may only attend school part time.

If you are Home Educating a child with Special Educational Needs, or if this is something that you are thinking about, then I'd like to invite you to join us. You will be very welcome.

Asperger Syndrome

This is a new section of the web site for families who have children with Asperger Syndrome.

A lot of families who have children with Asperger Syndrome - too many families - find it difficult to get an appropriate educational placement in the school system for their child. Some of these families take on Home Education by choice. Other families feel they have been backed into a corner - and Home Education is their only choice.
