First thing this morning, the College we are chasing for the BTEC National Diploma/A levels rang about a query I’d raised regarding the English test R is to sit. I’d sent in his DI report and she said they would give him a place (great!!), he was very able, and it was a test they give all prospective students to decide on the level of course. She said he could take it next year, which made much more sense to me and to R as he’ll be doing GCSE English next year.
Dh looked at the Numeracy papers with Rupert.
R did his music practice and then retreated to play Lego and listen to an audio tape. After lunch, we walked to his piano lesson, it was a beautiful day; we fed the ducks and met up in town to do a little shopping. We came home and I had a telephone “discussion” with the new dental receptionist who told me we hadn’t had any appointments come through because our details hadn’t been properly inputted onto the new computer last April and someone “had” rung some time ago about ds’s preventative treatment he was in the middle of a year ago, when they decided it couldn’t be completed because he was only allowed 2 coatings of fissure sealants at one time. However they couldn’t tell me when they had rung, or what for because it was a hand written note that wasn’t dated.
Sometimes it takes so much time out of one’s day to just chase up appointments/deliveries and so on. Ds has had braces and the whole treatment he received from the orthodontist was excellent.
We sat down to watch the end of the Chemistry on video. R then dashed off to talk on MSN with his webcam on. Dh had been called in to babysit this afternoon and they set off rather late for violin and Maths.
It is our alternate busy week this week but I think we need to slow down a little. Having said that, R and I are off to London tomorrow, very early, to see a Film Ed screening at the French Institute, dh grandchild sits in the morning.
