Concert · Saturday March 31, 2007 by Lily
The concert was lovely. It was in a beautiful church dating from the 13th century and thought to be built on a Celtic burial ground, it’s on a little hill in the centre of the village, fascinating, we must go back for another look. I love old churches.
Anyway, they played: Four Pieces by J.S. Bach, Russian Riddle by Jason Barrera, Brook Green Suite by Gustav Holst and Pachelbel’s Canon.
It was excellent. The group is for under 19s and evolves and changes as players leave for Uni and join the ranks as beginners (at post grade 3.) I think they are playing at their best so far, the group seems to gel well. There are 15 of them at present. I’m hoping R can stay on until he is 19 as he’ll be dropping back a school year and has a late birthday. Last year they made a CD.
