Tom's birthday · Thursday October 5, 2006 by june

Lots of cake baking and decorating later, and Tom has had his birthday. I think he’s happy.

Today started off really badly, but picked up a bit as we went along.

James is striding ahead with his physics – which is great because we had got a bit bogged down there before the summer. In maths he is doing loci. As well as using his maths book, James followed the loci unit on the Learnpremium website. He is also busy doing an electronics project of his own, and has been spending time on Blender doing 3D graphics.

The Dr Who writing is coming along nicely. James has nearly finished now. However, Liz has written a lot more than she needed too, it is going to take her ages to write it up neatly, and she wants to illustrate it too!

Liz and I had lots of fun with the radio 3 schools Music Workshop. As well as baking, she has also done some maths, read some Inverloch, and done some blogging. She’s also reading the Malory Towers books.

Tom has been reading this blog, and we both agree it isn’t very exciting. He thinks I should make up something more entertaining about our family to write here :-) Anyway, I hope it is giving you something of an idea of how Home education works in our house? The way we structure our day, and the resources we use.
