Rupert spent the morning updating his bus spreadsheets and I hear he went into the Ian Allan bookshop on Monday and bought the 2007 Railway stock book and Stagecoach bus book, so he has lots of interesting things to read and food for thought.
He wasn’t well, so we had to deal with organising medication before the holidays. However, he went out with his friend M in the afternoon and we went to a garden centre to look at buying bushy deterrents against our garden intruders, but they were very expensive so I’ll try to take some cuttings myself as we need plenty. Holly springs to mind.
Ds did music practice. It’s easy for it to be overlooked during the holidays when we aren’t working a “normal” day, but he has the two grade exams this coming session.
He put some music on his MP3 player, and made himself a home made pizza.
Our granddaughters and elder son and his wife came for some cake and to give me 59 claps, well almost, grandaughter 1 can’t count that far yet! They stayed for a play and tea and didn’t want to go home. I sorted out a couple of books for them to read tonight at home…Thomas and a fun phonics book, granddaughter 1 is at that lovely magical time when she is starting to read and write. She loves stories, fantasy, fairies, ballet, Barbie and all things pink. She is also, like her mum, a performer. Her mum is a trained opera singer. I help her stage little shows with the sofa for a stage.
Unfortunately we then received the news that granny had been found on the floor by the carers and had been taken into hospital. We are awaiting news, dh’s sister has driven over.
We went out for a quick birthday pub supper, the Salt City Jazz Men play every Thursday evening at a canal-side pub. We live a stone’s throw from the Shropshire Union Canal and have always enjoyed walks along the tow path, to the “basin end,” where hire boats can be rented for holidays.
