Lego Disaster · Monday April 30, 2007 by Abbie

This morning started out with the predicted reading in bed. We are still on the Terry Prachett books and will be for some time I think, as there are 30. But we don’t have them all here in the house so I will be able to engineer some breaks to read other books to. We usually do most of our learning through reading aloud, and the books we read are usually more educational than this, but I am sure that Terry would be horrified to hear that his books are not educational, so I had better think of an educational angle to them!

After breakfast Ram did some more work on his Bionicle computer game. He is now passed the 87% that he was at when he accidentally wiped out the game, and is really enjoying it. It is amazing at how he has developed his eye hand co-ordination not just with one hand but with both.

After lunch and my nap we went to the osteopath. I had taken a little Lego Creator set to give to Ram as a surprise to keep him busy while I had a treatment. I took the blue pod as blue is his favourite colour. Unbeknownst to me, it was the robot one that he wanted, which happened to be red!

He refused to open it, even though I assured him the red one was at home and he could have it when we got there. He just sat there the whole half hour saying that he wanted to be home. It is one of those things. Once Ram has it in his head that something isn’t right, there is no changing his mind.

It didn’t leave me a chance to relax and enjoy my treatment.

While there I discussed some of Ram’s joint problems that have recently developed and the osteopath has recommend that we get a full assessment with a physiotherapist. So that is a phone call that I will have to make this week.

When we got home Ram wanted to watch our rental DVD for the week. It was Garfield 2. It was nice watching a funny film for a change, rather than something that is educational, which is what we have been watching lately.

At least Ram was able to have a good laugh and relax after the Lego disaster!

A very quiet day today, that is, until the evening! Snake!
